The winter transfer market is typically a period of significant speculation and possible major transfers. Numerous notable players are being linked with transfers away from their present clubs. We examine some of the top names who could be changing clubs this month.

Marc Guéhi

The English centre-back has excel for Palace despite a previous transfer to Anfield collapsing. As his contract due to run out in the close season, January is the London club's final chance to secure a fee for their skipper. Numerous top clubs, such as City and multiple continental powerhouses like Bayern Munich, Real Madrid, and Barcelona, are believed to hold an interest. Yet, a January departure remains unlikely, especially given the manager's dependence on the defender.

Brennan Johnson

This Wales forward has had first-team opportunities hard to come by at Spurs this term. Although being the club's top scorer the previous campaign, he has started only a handful of league games. It is understood the London outfit would be willing to consider a sale for the right valuation, thought to be in the region of £40 million. Bournemouth are currently leading the chase, with Crystal Palace, Aston Villa, and Brentford also credited with an interest.

R. Neves

This Portugal midfielder might be poised for a comeback to the English top flight after a period in the Saudi Pro League. Now only twenty-eight, while his agreement expiring in the summer of 2026, he is a possible opportunity. Clubs like Liverpool and Manchester United have been connected to the former Wolves man. Additionally, there have been rumours from Spain that he would be willing to take a reduced salary for a move to Real Madrid.

M. ter Stegen

This experienced German goalkeeper finds himself as the third option at Barça following the coach Flick. After lost his place and undergone an operation, a winter exit looks increasingly probable. Villa were initially mentioned as a possible destination, but that move now appears unlikely. Instead, clubs from Turkey and Saudi Arabia are thought to be showing interest in the keeper.

Ivan Toney

This proven English centre-forward has continued scoring regularly in the Middle East. Coming back to the Premier League could enhance his dwindling hopes of being in the national squad. The Turin club are eager to secure the 20-year-old to a lengthy agreement but face a battle to retain one of the continent's most promising young talents.

K. Smit

The highly-touted Dutch teenage midfielder has drawn comparisons to Kevin De Bruyne for his style of play. After starring at the U19 Euros, Smit has become a regular in the AZ side. The 19-year-old is heavily tipped to complete a major transfer in January. Newcastle are believed to be leading the chase, but are facing stiff competition from the Spanish champions for a deal priced at approximately £22 million.
